Casona Los Cedros - Yucatan
A beautifully designed small-scale boutique hotel in an unexplored part of the Yucatan Peninsula
Ins and outs: This intimate boutique hotel consists of 9 rooms, a pool and an open-air restaurant in a well designed garden space. Photos don’t really do the newly renovated hotel justice; as the French from origin architectural couple have recreated a wonderful experience in a tranquil and authentic setting.
Location: Espita is a little village located less than an hour’s drive away from trendy Valladolid. In the middle of this slow but beautifully untouched town you will find Casona los Cedros. The lesser known Ek Balam ruins and the famously known Chichen Itza ruins are both in close proximity. The cities of Cancun and Merida are reachable within a couple of hours. It’s the perfect venturing point to explore the Yucatan peninsula.
Food and Drinks: the on-site restaurant provides a captivating dining experience. The chef serves local dishes with a modern twist, created from organic local produce or vegetables from their own garden.
Care & Wellness: the hotel is decorated with arts and crafts from the local community. Organic produce is sourced locally. Check-in to see if yoga classes are available on the roof terrace.
Unseen: walk into Espita’s centre straight after waking up to visit the local vegetable market, hop on a scooter taxi to zip around town and come back for a delightful breakfast at the hotel.
