Maana Homes - Kyoto

Where ancient inspiration meets eco-conscious elegance, offering a serene sanctuary in Kyoto's cultural heart.

Ins and outs: in the heart of Kyoto, Maana offers a series of boutique homes with a unique blend of ancient Japanese wisdom and contemporary luxury. With a commitment to creating spaces that resonate with warmth and meaning, they invites guests to immerse themselves in the rich stories and philosophies of Japanese culture for a transformative experience.

Location: The three locations of their homes are amidst Kyoto's historic streets and traditional architecture, Kiyomizu, Kamo and Tambaguchi. These three ideal setting provides easy access to the city's cultural treasures, including iconic temples, serene shrines, and cultural landmarks.

Rooms: Maana Kiyomizu offers 3 separate guest suites with each 1 to 2 bedrooms. POJ Studio, which offers bespoke design items and Kintsugi workshops, is located next door as well as cafe Kissa Kishin. The Maana Kamo and Maana Kytoto homes both sleep 2-6 people, offering a wide range of amenities and services.

Food and Drinks: The houses are self sustainable and offer all conveniences in their kitchens. Kissa Kishin, the cafe located next to Kiyomizu offers organic farm-fresh food in a modern take of a traditional Japanese coffee house.

Care & Wellness: Sustainability is woven into the very fabric of Maana Homes' design philosophy, where the use of natural materials such as wood, bamboo, and earthen walls underscores a commitment to eco-conscious living. Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture, Maana creates spaces that balance form and emptiness, promoting harmony with the environment.

Unseen: Partake in an authentic ‘Kintsugi’ workshop at POJ Studio to learn more about the ancient art of bringing broken ceramics back to life or try a workshop in incense making.
